Open Question: My sister's hinge came undone on her laptop, and now her screen will not work.?

The hinge mount came unscrewed and the screen stopped working after a while. I was able to screw it back in and plug all af the appropriate plugs back in. I have not looked at the actual monitor part of th laptop. What could it be? It is an HP Pavilionn dv6500 notebook pc.

Open Question: Computer not recognizing new hard drive. Help?

I'm trying to replace my notebook PC's old hard drive with a new one, but when I put the new one in, the computer doesn't recognize that there's a drive in there. I've tried booting from an HP recovery disc, which gives me error 0x400110020000100A. I've also tried booting from the Vista Ultimate disc, which doesn't work because it doesn't recognize that there's a hard drive available on which to install the OS. One possible problem I can think of is that the new hard drive is SATA, and I'm not 100% sure the old one was also SATA. They look exactly the same physically, and from what I can tell, IDE drives look different from SATA drives. Any helpful information about SATA vs IDE would be really helpful!

i have a hp notebook, and its slowing getting tokenover, by a virus i guess. the internet shuts down. if i use a search engine im kicked off, so many problems pop up daily, so slow interent load up, i have no clue how to just rebote the damn thing and just clear out my drives of any viruses. and please an easy way! somone explain how to do this.

I'm doing a project in English where we have to right an epic, based on Ancient Greece. It must be historically accurate and follow all of the aspects of a Greek epic. My epic specifically is about a man, named Achilles who is afraid of disappointing his father as a warrior. He is intimidated by his brother, Darius and thinks that his father loves him more. Athena, the Ancient Greek goddess discovers Achilles' problem and helps him by showing him that his father has an unconditional and equal love for both him and Darius. By the end of my epic, Achilles gives his father a "notebook" that has writings about all of the battles they both took place in. I realize that in Ancient Greece, around 490-480 b.c.e, they would not call it a "notebook". What would be the correct term?

How can I get my new W7 computer to find the wireless printer on the same network? It is an HP 6988 printer, it is connected to the wireless network and other computers can print to it fine. A new notebook with Windows 7 x64 connected to the network but cannot see the printer, and I don't have a usb cable to connect them. How can I get the new computer to wirelessly print to it? Everything has connected to the network, and there are no other problems besides this. HP site says drivers are built into W7. When I select add printer, find network printer, it does not locate it. How do I find the ip of the printer?

Open Question: Why is my laptop's fan making a lot of noise?

It is a gateway notebook that is red and it's fan is on the left side. The fan has been making a lot of noise. I bought it at best buy for 900 dollars. I also bought it in 2008. Do you think I need to clean the fan? If so, can any one tell me how to clean it?
