Open Question: What is the fundamental difference between a laptop and a netbook?

From what I understand the only difference is the amount of memory you get with a standard netbook is much less than that of a laptop. If that's the case couldn't you just add more memory to the netbook by replacing your hard-drive or adding more RAM? I also understand that a netbook is inferior to a laptop when it comes to watching videos or gaming. I mainly use my computer to browse the web, check email and write. Do netbooks come with office software? I apologize ahead of time I'm not that computer savy. Thanks.

Open Question: Can you help me pick a laptop?

I want to start thinking about my next laptop. I have a Dell XPS M1535 and I really don't love it. I'm not a gamer, but I have many memory-intensive apps open at the same time. If the system would allow it I would have Adobe PS, Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver all open along with Firefox, which has terrible memory leaks if you use any plugins. Between all this I need a decent processor and a lot of memory. Macs would be great in theory but are out of the question because of the lack of software. The i5, i7 processors look appealing but they are so new, I don't know if they run hot and/or have other drawbacks, and I'm tempted to wait for the next generation of i7s. Given this usage pattern would you say I should look for a gaming computer? I don't seem to fall in the normal classes (business user, gamer), so often not sure what to look for. There's a new Sony VAIO with an i7 processor that looks kind of appealing. Well, any lines or model suggestions appreciated. Last few times I just bought a laptop without much thought, and this time I want to do better.

Open Question: time warner sent a complaint I'm scared?

Im freaking scared im going to go to jail? Omg or get a fine? How can i resolve it i deleted everything from my pc like limewire and torrents. Time-Warner cable recently sent me this notice after I used bittorent: "Dear Subscriber: This notice is being sent to you by Road Runner Customer Care because we have received a complaint that your computer has been used to distribute copyrighted material without authorization through a peer-to-peer program. We received this complaint from the movie studio, record company, television studio or other company that owns the copyrighted material. The purpose of this email is to remind you that the distribution of copyrighted material in this fashion may violate both the copyright laws and Road Runner’s terms of service, and to tell you a bit about peer-to-peer programs, the dangers they can pose to your computer and our network, and the steps you can take to protect yourself. A computer can become accessible to a peer-to-peer network for an unlimited period of time after a peer-to-peer program is downloaded. You may not even be aware that such a program is on your computer; a child or a visitor to the home could have downloaded it. That is why we want to alert you to this issue. Peer-to-peer programs may contain many problems. For example: •Downloading and offering for upload copyrighted material without authorization is unlawful. If you or others using your computer have been doing this, you could be subject to civil penalties and criminal fines. Such activity also violates the Road Runner terms of service. •The programs allow any anonymous person on the Internet to look at your computer files and copy them for themselves. Such a hacker could view all of your files, which can lead to identity theft. •The programs, which use large amounts of memory, can interfere with the functioning of your computer by destabilizing your operating system, leading to a general sluggishness at bootup and during operation. •The programs can contain spyware, adware, malware, viruses and pornography. If you are interested in a discussion of problems associated with peer-to-peer file sharing, please follow this link: http://research.pestpatrol.com/whitepape...mpact.asp. If you use the Windows OS, the best way to remove peer-to-peer programs is through the Add/Remove Programs tool. Other removal options are discussed at http://security.uchicago.edu/peer-to-pee...are.shtml. Thank you for subscribing to Road Runner. Very truly yours, Road Runner Customer Care"

Open Question: When trying to recover my toshiba equium with disc I get an error? HELP!?

I've had my laptop roughly about two years now, it's a Toshiba Equium L40-17M series. I got it with a recovery disc and have used the disk successfully in the past to recover my laptop to it's factory settings perfectly. I noticed that my Vista drive was getting full and after many attempts to solve this I eventually decided to just recover it and start again. So I took all the files I wanted and stored them on several memory devices. I then deleted what I didn't want and emptied the files from the recycle bin and followed the instructions given on the disc cover telling me to ; Insert the first disc into the drive and shut down the computer. Turn on your computer while keeping the F12 key pressed. Use the cursor keys to select the optical disc drive in the menu. Follow instructions which are appearing on the screen. I did all these things and clicked the OK button warning me that "My hard disk will be completely erased. Do you really want to continue". It then whizzes through some technical stuff that I would never understand and shows me two errors reading "Error: Could not open WIM file F:\05903XSP.swm! ERROR: RecoWMAInfo.exe did not run properly!" I just wanna know whats going on Help please :D !?
