Open Question: Why does my computer lag when I play games?

My laptop works well most of the time but when I try to play some games it lags. It's happened with games like sims 3, unreal tournament 3, mass effect etc. It works fine for a few minutes (depending on the game) and then it starts lagging for 30 sec, then it's fine again. I don't get why, I have the system requirements for the games... I've tried increasing the virtual memory and reinstalling drivers but there's no difference. I have an intel core 2 duo processor 2.53GHz, 4GB ram, nvidia geforce 9600M GS 512Mb video card.

I know this is a trivial issue. However, I thought that I would save some time. Does anyone have a good sub-routine or do-while in your VB toolbox that will update from computer memory the time and date.

Open Question: Why does my computer keep telling me its "virtual memory minimum is too low"?

Everytime I go on my computer and bring up Internet explorer the message comes up that the virtual memory minimum is too low and windows is increasing it, then everything freezes. Why is this and what can I do? I cannot increase the ram any further as it's already been done to the max.

I don't know if its my computer or my camera with the problem but now my computer wont recognize it.When I connect the camera it does know its connected to a computer because you can see the white light flashing which means its connected to something.But my computer does nothing.And when I insert the camera's memory card nothing happens aether.Whats wrong and what can i do?!

So i built a computer (stats not important) but has a couple PCI E slots. iI got my brothers old graphics card, which barely does what i need it to do.
