Open Question: Where do I put a memory chip in the Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z?

Hi, We've bought one for the office- to see how it works. We bought additional memory but I can't see where to install it..without placing the computer on its screen to look underneath. I cant find any details anywhere. Thanks

Open Question: What gender can we assign to computer?

The men's group decided that "computer" should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computadora"), because: 1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic; 2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else; 3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and 4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it. The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine ("el computador"), because: 1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on; 2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves; 3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and 4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine. “House” for instance, is feminine: “la casa.” “Pencil,” however, is masculine: “el lapiz.” A student asked, “What gender is ‘computer’?” Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether “computer” should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation. The men’s group decided that “computer” should definitely be of the feminine gender (”la computadora”), because: 1. (THIS GETS BETTER!) The women’s group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine (”el computador”), because: 1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on; 2. They have a lot of data but still can’t think for themselves; 3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and 4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model! The women won!

Open Question: If you know your computer is inevitably GOING to crash, is there any way to stop it?

So my computer warned me with a blue screen that it "will be crashing and is dumping all physical memory" (something along those lines), and I am buying an external hard drive to backup my files. What I want to know is, since I got an early warning, is there anyway to stop it from happening or will I simply have to wait for its death and then buy a new computer?

Open Question: Hardware reserved memory?

I recently built a computer around an Intel i5-750 cpu. I have 4 gigs of installed RAM, which Windows recognizes, but it says only 1.98 GBs are usable. When I go into the Resource Manager, it tells me the 2115 MBs of RAM are "Hardware Reserved." My video card has 1gig of dedicated memory, so it shouldn't need more. I've updated Windows and my motherboard's BIOS to the latest updates. Every program tells me I have 4 GBs of memory installed, including my BIOS. Does anyone know how to fix this. I've tried adjusting the amount used at boot with no success, so I un-checked the setting, as everyone says to do. Parts: Intel Core i5-750 Quad Core CPU (Supports 64-bit OS) Intel DH55HC motherboard Nvidia 9800 GT 1gig 2x2gig OCZ DDR3 RAM (Designed for use with the Core i-series) Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit @Yodadude2088 Thanks for the quick answer. My mobo doesn't contain that menu option. Lucky me. Any more ideas? @Twinkle Why would any OS need 2 GBs of memory PLUS the gig it's already using to run? Plus, it says it's reserved for hardware, not software.

Open Question: Flip Camcorder Video Transfer?

Ok. So I plan on buying a Flip UltraHD Camcorder for my upcoming trip to Peru. I want to vlog my trip while I am down there for a month. I will not have constant access to a computer to dump the camcorder, nor will I have regular access to power. I chose this camcorder because it runs on AA batteries, which i have like 20 rechargables which I can take. The problem is that this thing only records about 2 hours of video. I need to do this without a computer (power issues). I can get an external hard drive or other memory device. How do I get the video off it so I can keep recording? The problem is that I am a broke college student and am trying to find something relatively cheap and efficient. I don't want to drop $500 on a camcorder. I just need something that runs on regular batteries and takes SD cards, or I need someway to get this stuff off the camcorder.
